After a 3 week hiatus from the TSR blog, the final instalment has arrived. I’ll preface it by saying that the story doesn’t end here. On the contrary, it’s another new beginning.
As mentioned in the last entry, we’ve come to a point as a company where we must decide which road to take to lead us to the haven of entrepreneurs, a place where we could disappear for an extended period of time and look on as our business continues to flourish. Let’s just say that day is still more than likely to be a few years away, but the journey that will take us there is now being written.
We’ve devised a plan that will allow us to hire slowly, but steadily, in order to reach the milestones we know are necessary to reach our ultimate goals. As a startup, you never quite know with any certainly that any plan you build will be a successful one, but instead of spending months on end reading through data and test analytics, we take a shot, and we let us success be dictated by the market – not the other way around. We know that if all our hard work over the course of this next chapter amounts to nothing, at least we’ll have our expertise in tech recruitment to fall back on. That’s the single most beautiful thing about the business we’ve started – Ali and I have jobs for life. Not too many people can say that in their early 20s; some never get to say that at all. Maybe we’re overly ambitious or naive, but I think you need to run with your eyes closed sometimes, just to find out what wonders you’ll see when you open them.
We’re confident in the future of Synapse International. There’s no doubt the functions and structure of our business will continue to evolve over time, but the core elements that have made us successful to this point will remain constant. We value hard work, dedication to our craft, and relentlessness. You may be reading this and saying to yourself, “what the hell do these guys even do all day?!”, and I wouldn’t even be able to give you a straight answer. We do whatever we need to do to make money and to live the lifestyles we want. We are not defined by a base salary or by any hours of operation, and thank the good lord that we are not confined to the same 4 walls day in and day out.
We are entrepreneurs. We do things our way. We do things the Synapse Way.
